PAPA Wall of Achievement

Each month, the PAPA Wall of Achievement recognizes a young person that is doing or has done something good and/or positive within the Phoenixville community.

Too often, we praise the sports stars and chastize the troublemakers, but overlook the good works and the positive achievements of our youth.  The WoA honorees are young men and young women setting good examples and being positive role models right here in Phoenixville and deserve recognition.

Do you know of a young person doing good in the Community? Nominate him/her by contacting Alexis at papa19460@gmail.com.

Xavier Knight

Age: 18
Phoenixville Area High School
12th Grade

Mentoring, track and field, volunteering and balancing a part-time job at the G Lodge are just some of the things Xavier Knight finds time for his senior year.  This young man has a lot on his plate, but still manages to obtain excellent grades and earned an academic scholarship to a college of his choice.  Xavier is not one to boast about all he has done in Phoenixville at such a young age, but PAPA is proud to boast for him.
The next time you see Xavier please applaud him for all he has achieved.  Next year Xavier will be taking on a new chapter in his life (college) and sharing his gifts with that community.  He truly is an extraordinary young man and we wish him the best with all future endeavors.

February 2013

Jessica Mueller
Age: 16
Phoenixville Area High School
10th Grade

Jessica Mueller is a tutor at PAPA’s New Directions after school program.  Jessica has dedicated each day after school to helping elementary school kids since the program started this year.  She goes above and beyond the duty of a volunteer and is adored by all the children she helps.

In-between studying and keeping her grades up, Jessica’s passions are helping others, volunteering in her community and participating in her church youth group. Without young people like Jessica our programs wouldn’t be as successful as they are. PAPA would like to thank Jessica, and let her know we appreciate her and all her time she gives us.

PAPA Wall of Achievement

January 2013

Marshall Johnson

Age: 18

Phoenixville Area High School

11th Grade

During the summer of 2011 several friends were walking in the Schuylkill River when one friend suddenly went under.  Marshall spring into rescue mode, without concern for himself, and dove into the deep water and rescued his friend.

Although Marshall's heroics happened over a year ago, PAPA would like to recognize his act of courage.  He is a modest Hero and well deserving of the inaugural PAPA Wall of Achievement recognition.
